  • Obama confronts Republicans…finally

    obama confronts

Obama finally confronted Republicans in a special 82 minute session that allowed for his opponents to address him directly on-air. Obama took out the gloves and finally called out his opponents leaving his “No-Drama Obama” persona behind. He called them out for “misrepresenting his budget plan” and misleading their constituents into thinking he is “doing all kinds of crazy stuff that’s going to destroy America.” He firmly urged Republicans to put away self. “These are serious times and what’s required of all of us is to do what’s right for our country, even if it’s not best for our politics,” Obama said. Are times changing? More drama Obama.

  • Good news from Haiti_Haitian Rescues

    flag-haiti

While Haiti is still in turmoil, I wanted to dedicate one post to all the good news from Haiti- the rescues. After many days, people are still being pulled from the rubble. It’s a miracle but it encourages us to have hope in times of despair. Hope for Haiti Now. Wyclef sings a great song for Haiti when he says, ” Earthquake. We see the earth shake but the soul of the Haitian people will never break.”

Celebrate each life saved and hope for the future.

A woman is rescued from a crumbled cement building.

Day 6, a man does not leave his wife as he waits for his wife. She is alive.

    More rescues from the rubble

8 days later, an elderly woman is rescued from the rubble

10 days later, a 22 year old Haitian Man is rescued from the rubble

12 days later, a 35 year old man is rescued from the rubble

  • CBS says no to gay ad and yes to abortion ad…HMMM

    mancrunchss

Is CBS inserting their politics on TV? The warm and fuzzy “anti-abortion” ad that was protested by every women’s group from here to Timbuktu stays but the goofy ManCrunch commercial is kicked to the curb. I guess we can call CBS the official conservation channel. Is this ManCrunch ad too far?

On the other hand, does this Focus on the Family anti-abortion ad featuring Tim Tebow deserve to stay. Certainly, in 2004, CBS rejected United Church of Christ ads featuring They sited that commercial that “touches on and/or takes a position on one side of a current controversial issue” are banned. The UCC commercial featured a gay couple attempting to enter a house of worship but being turned away by a bouncer. The commercial ended with the tagline “Jesus Didn’t Turn People Away. Neither Do We.” The Tim Tebow ad ends with “Celebrate Family, Celebrate Life” which clearly touches on or takes position of one side of an issue. Do I smell a double standard? Here both sides of this story.

  • Tables Turned: Acorn Activist James O’Keefe Arrested

    giles_okeefe

James O’Keefe, Acorn Foe, was arrested for trying to wire tap phones of Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu of New Orleans. According to reports, O’Keefe showed up at Senator Mary Landrieu’s office with two other men dressed as telephone repair men so that they may “repair the phones”. O’Keefe taped the men on his cellphone in what could be his latest stunt until they were arrested. FBI Special Agent Steven Rayes alleges that O’Keefe aided and abetted two others, Joseph Basel and Robert Flanagan, who dressed up as employees of a telephone company and attempted to interfere with the office’s telephone system. They were later released on bail.

O’Keefe became famous earlier this year when he exposed Acorn in a series of videos whereby he and a friend asked Acorn officials how to perform illegal activities like sex trafficking, tax evashion, money laundering and prostitution.

Now, James may have gone too far but what did James O’Keefe hear about in New Orleans that led him to commit a federal offence.

  • The View’s Joy Behar is a gay expert ?

    joy-behar-hln-show

Joy Behar is an official gay expert? When talking about fidelity today, Joy said that gay people, especially gay men, do not place importance on fidelity like heterosexuals. She noted that gay men are able to “separate” sex from “love”. Getting even more scientific, Joy noted that it may be because of procreation. As gay people cannot procreate, they realize that there is more to their relationship.
Whoopi says that the gay people she knows are pretty concerned about fidelity.

Joy…I think this calls for a SCRATCHING THE HEAD MOMENT. This clip is coming soon.

  • A Look back at the Obama presidency

    obama-close-up

Remember November 2008, hearts were full, tears were falling and people were dancing in the street. It was a new day. Now, Obama voters in Massachusetts are going rogue casting their ballot for Republicans and we really can’t blame them when the Democratic candidate has trouble showing up and spelling Massachusetts on her ads. Polls are down and Obama is getting an F grade on how “the U.S. government has responded to its December 2008 recommendations for steps needed to prepare for the threat that terrorists will strike using nuclear or biological weapons.”

Newsweek says he is leading with “head and not his heart”. What do you think? Let’s take a quick look back at the presidency- first 100 days.
